For Salomé – Silver Glow

20090727_03_01

My dear friend,
after some pony buys at the fleamarket I checked my „My little Pony – need to be washed and brushed“-box and look what I found! I knew there was something special about the keychain, that I had seen the according G3 pony XD I wouldn’t have expected to find it in a box in my living room, but now the two are together next to my computer, so I can look at them! Thank you so much!

By the way her name is „Silver Glow“ <3

50 hours to go…

20090721_01

Now in exactly 50 hours my oral exam in English Literature will be almost over. Oh how I wish it already would be  Thursday…on the other hand of course I do NOT wish it’s already Thursday. There’s still so much to do, to be precise to read. My restless companions awake and asleep are Seamus Heaney, James Joyce, William Butler Yeats, the slightly more welcome ones Lady Audley, Oliver Twist and Jane Eyre.

Today it’s Sari’s birthday – so you can see there are other things that come to my mind – at times and only unclear. Happy Birthday, dear Sari! Feel hugged!

Now, if you would excuse me. There are some Irish poetic noblemen who demand my full attention.

An unexpected visit to the Zoo

20090518_01

Two weeks ago on a lazy Sunday I felt like going to the Zoo. I had slept too long, so it had already been after noon…in other words too late to take the train to Munich to enjoy a full day with the animals. I may have been a little grumpy, when suddenly at three o‘ clock b. called and asked me to go to the Zoo, NOW. His family was driving by car to Munich anyway, so we could hitch a ride and take the subway to the Zoo. We had only two hours (had I refused to go there before because we weould have only had some hours???), but we enjoyed those to teh fullest. It was so much fun to go there spontaneously, even more fun than a planned visit could have ever been.

First we visited the petting zoo with its young goats. We were able to pet them, carry them around, whatever we wanted. The goats were so relaxed and seemed to enjoy the contact with humans (the had the chance to leave the petting zoo and back out).

The weather was extraordinary, so I was able to take many wonderful pictures. Here you can see a rhino and even the saliva that drops from its mouth.

Doesn’t he look so very laid-back? I’d like to change places for a sunny afternoon!

Another polar bear at feeding time.

Please, look at his face!
The baby monkeys were so tiny, but also very nosey. Its mother was lazy and didn’t want to look for the baby every second, so she just grab its tail like a leash and so it was aloud to play freely in a limited radius.

It was already time for the Zoo to close when we approched the giraffe enclosure. In the evening sunlight their markings were simpy beautiful. I really love those animals!

My love for visitng zoos is one of the many things I owe to Berte Bratt and her books. After Hellabrunn the next zoo we plan to visit is the one in Salzburg. Has anybody been there so far?

Mother’s Day 2009

20090513_01

This year, in combination with the DSDS finale I stayed at my Mom’s house overnight. Sunday morning my little sister woke me up (ah, not enough sleep) and we prepared a Mother’s Day breakfast. It was so hot, really like a summer’s day, so we were able to prepare the table on the patio.
Just recently I bought an iPod Touch 2G and with it I’m able to use the W-LAN internet at my mom’s house…so my sister and I sat outside with the iPod and watching videos on youtube on how to fold napkins…isn’t this crazy? I mean, doing something old-fashioned like folding napkins to roses, but watch the instructions on a little black Wi-Fi gadget. I love living in this times where old and new can be connected in such a cool and useful way!

After a long breakfast we went to a nearby fleamarket and shortly after it was time for our guests to arrive (my grandma, aunt and cousin). We had a wonderful day on the patio and in the garden, like I said it felt like midsummer! We had fresh strawberry cake and a barbecue in the evening. I was ablte to simply sit in a chair and read a book (I would have never believed those simple things can feel so important and relaxing).

I really enjoyed that day and hope my Mom was happy to have all her children around. It’s not that often at the moment that I can go and see her…I don’t have a car and the train round-trip ticket is 14,00€. So each time I want to see her I have to pay 14,00€ though it’s not that far, can you believe that? I love my Mom and I miss her so much!

Alles Liebe,

Monday Morning

20090504

It’s monday morning and monday means my first free day of the week. stop…don’t think I’m lazy. I really neeed some free time to learn and keep my household running. or I will alaways end up like yesterday and clean my bathroom on sunday evenings.

Having another day before the week really starts gives me the feeling of escaping, at least for another day, for some hours. No, my university and job life isn’t always fun, i wonder when it had been fun for the last time…in the first semester? Still I keep fighting, I just realized again it’s no option for me to give up and forget about studying. I have to finish all of this before I can go on. You don’t have some spare money…let’s say 10.000 € you could give me as a present? No? I thought so.

But a small amount of money doesn’t mean I cannot live at all anymore. There’s always some left to be creative and give little presents to the persons I love…like my little easter nests here. They were filled with delicious marzipan/chocolate eggs sorted by colour. every nest had something special attached like the oishii Ferrero Rondnoir or a Hello Kitty PEZ dispenser for my little sister ^^

How did all of you spend the Easter holidays? Did you go abroad, spend it with your families or alone? Did you hide your eggs or haven’t received any at all?

There’s a Japanese translation to do, not to speak of Charles Dickens‘ Oliver Twist that wants to be read for my English literature exam. Hm, the craftsmen on the first floor of my apartment house seem to have stopped their annoying, loud work. This means I have no excuse NOT to learn anymore.
